The Church

El-Shaddai International Christian Centre is a Word of Faith, non denominational, Christ-centred church. The passion of the church is not religious tradition or rituals or programs but people, whose complete restoration is the highest goal.

In January 1998, Dr Ramson and Pastor Linda started leading a small church plant of about 30 adults and children, known at the time as Christians in Bingley. The name was soon changed to Centre of Life Church and for nearly two years the group met at Bingley Grammar School.

In January 2000, El-Shaddai International Christian Centre was born when Pastors Ramson and Linda stepped out in faith to move the church from Bingley into Bradford with close to 50 members of their previous congregation. At that same time, the church started meeting at Restoration House, Bradford, a property of about 16,000 sq ft, and within six months the church grew to over 180 members.

In November 2001 Dr Mumba launched the El-Shaddai challenge, an ambitious project to raise funds to purchase the church’s first property. Over the next year the church gave £301,000 to deposit on the building and restoration works started on 3rd February 2003. By June of the same year the church was celebrating its ‘spacious place’ and was privileged to receive Dr Dollar on the opening night of Get Understanding 2003 to dedicate the building.

In 2004 Dr Ramson and Pastor Linda moved to London to establish what has become the ministry base, with a thriving congregation of 1400 people. In 2007, they purchased The Hippodrome, the former home of the BBC concert orchestra in Golders Green, and with four other church plants in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Lusaka, Zambia the ministry is growing from strength to strength.

The work is growing rapidly as those hungry to hear the Word come to be refreshed. The make-up of the churches reflects the unique blend of culture and peoples in the cities. El-Shaddai International Christian Centre really is a coat of many colours!

The impact of the vision that God has committed to Dr Ramson, Pastor Linda and their team truly is global. El-Shaddai International Christian Centre touches the community through its various outreaches and Get Understanding broadcasts, reaching as many as 200 million people in 216 different countries on the four continents of Europe, Asia, Africa and North America every week.
