History
In January 1998, Dr Ramson and Pastor Linda Mumba started leading a small church plant of about 30 adults and children in a small town outside Bradford. The church very quickly grew and in June 2003 the church purchased its first property, Restoration House in Bradford, England, a building of over 30,000 square feet. The church, by now had grown to nearly 450 people.
During this time, God spoke clearly to Dr Mumba to raise up Dr Jerome and Pastor Ruth Anekwe in order for them to take over the church in Bradford to allow himself and Pastor Linda to plant El-Shaddai London.
In 2004 they relocated to establish El-Shaddai London, which now has a thriving congregation. In 2007 they purchased and refurbished the Hippodrome, which was the former home of the BBC concert orchestra.
Not only have they consistently been on television with their popular ‘Get Understanding’ broadcast, they have, over the past thirteen years planted El-Shaddai London, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff and Lusaka in Zambia, to whom they now give apostolic oversight.
The impact of the vision that God has given to Dr Mumba and Pastor Linda is global in its purpose. The work is growing rapidly whilst building churches that emphasise the importance of the Word of God and engaging in genuine worship, as those hungry to hear the Word come to be refreshed. It is their desire that the churches reflect a coat of many colours where people from all walks of life feel welcome.
Dr Mumba, when talking of the success of the ministry, never under-estimates the impact that Dr Creflo and Pastor Taffi Dollar have made as their spiritual parents. In the year 2000 Dr Mumba felt God was directing him to pursue the anointing that was on Dr Dollar and Pastor Taffi. Not only has Dr Mumba and Pastor Linda’s ministry grown because of that connection, but the church has been blessed by many visits from Dr Dollar and Pastor Taffi. The Change Experience Conference, annually held in August at the Hippodrome in London, hosted not only Dr Dollar and Pastor Taffi, but also the ministry gift of Brother Copeland and Sister Gloria.
In August 2008 God spoke clearly to Dr Mumba to plant El-Shaddai International Christian Centre, Houston and he immediately started making plans to start the next part of the assignment. As a result of that Sunday 27th September was Dr Mumba and Pastor Linda’s last Sunday as pastors of El-Shaddai London and they handed the leadership of that church over to Pastors Jerome and Ruth Anekwe, who were the pastors of El-Shaddai Bradford and they relocated to London.
Plans are now in place for the Houston Bible Study to be held in March 2010 and soon after that Sunday services will begin.
